About Us

Tauer Research, Inc. has manufactured the Knead-a-Lift™ Bowl Lift for over 35 years starting with the DB-140 model for Great Harvest Bread. One bakery expanded to many Great Harvest Bread franchise bakeries. They saw need for help lifting their heavy bowls in demanding bakery production. The DB-80 smaller model followed to help a back injured worker in school food service still work. Preventing worker strain and injury for an industry by eliminating manual lifting mixing bowls. Well designed and compact to fit in limited space. Recognized a good option then a requirement for worker wellbeing. Great Harvest Bread neeeded a more compact bowl lift for their crowded bakeries and the UnderTable™ model. Designed to fold out of the way and provide unobstructed work at the table after lifting. First in a training center then bakeries thoughout the franchise. Working with a large bakery equipment supplier that wanted depositor height capability led to the unique DL-140 model for a compact bowl lift providing greater pouring height beyond the DB model. The first DL-140 in a large well known college in use over 11 years in their food service. We design answers for the needs of bakeries and food services. Lifts for mixing bowls of all types now new manufacturers.

  • The Knead-a-Lift™ DL-140 bowl lift designed for Hobart Classic 140 quart mixing bowl with greater pouring height: Standard model 62 inch, Extended model 68 inch pouring.

Knead-a-Lift™ DB Model
The orginal Knead-a-Lift™ bowl lift for getting the bread dough onto the kneading table. Pouring height 46 inches. Dough where you need it when you need it without back strain. Comes in two versions, the DB-140 for Hobart Classic 140 quart and DB-80 for Hobart Classic 80 quart bowls.
Knead-a-Lift™ UnderTable™ Model
The Knead-a-Lift™ UnderTable™ model designed for Great Harvest Bread Co. Franchise mounts under the kneading table and folds completely out of the way when not in use. For space constrained bakeries. Unfold the bowl lift when you need it to get bread dough onto the kneading table. Once folded it gives complete access at the kneading table.
Knead-a-Lift™ DL Model
The Knead-a-Lift™ DL model mastless linear bowl lift gives high reach access for depositors, hoppers to 62 inch pouring for Standard model and 68 inch pouring for the Extended model. The DL-140 for Hobart Classic 140 quart and the DL-80 for Hobart Classic 80 quart bowls. The Hobart Legacy bowls, 140 quart, 80 quart or 60 quart handled with apropriate Adapter Ring. Do not interfere when bowl used in the mixer.
Knead-a-Lift™ DBP Model
The Knead-a-Lift™ DBP-60 Bowl Lift for bucket pouring batter and cake mixes. Alternative to mixer bowl tilting stands you have to lift the bowl onto. Designed for Globe 60 quart bowls. Portable Battery Powered Bowl Lifts That Are Easy to Use Day in Day Out.

The Knead-a-Lift™ DB models and DL models are portable battery powered with U1 AGM sealed Deep Cycle battery and come with battery charger. This battery typically will run one whole week in normal bakeries and food services. We advise determining the number of cycles an owner will use and if they can run one whole week then make it a routine like weekends to recharge the battery to make sure they will always have power when they need it in production. The Knead-a-Lift™ UnderTable™ model uses 120 VAC power, has a 9 foot power cord for nearby receptacle, turn on power it is ready to go.
